Stezzano
Stezzano, Italy.
On July 12, 1586, the Virgin Mary appeared to Bartolomea Bucanelli (10) and Dorotea Battistoni (11), near a 13th-century chapel on the top of a small hill, in the vicinity of Stezzano (today's Italy, diocese of Bergamo).
The children described the apparition,as striking. They saw: "the silhouette of a woman dressed in black but with a white veil falling on her shoulders, who was reading a small book she held in her hands."
The religious investigation was conclusive, and in 1600, a shrine was inaugurated solemnly by a special celebration.
